INDECENT EXPOSURE LAW PENNSYLVANIA
Indecent Exposure is when a person exposes his or her genitalsor socially deemed "private parts" (such as behind or breasts) in any public place or in any place where there are there are others present to witness the act, and does so intentionally understanding and knowing, or should know, that this conduct is likely to offend, affront and/or alarm.
In Pennsylvania a charge of Indecent Exposure is a 2nd degree misdemeanor. If the person committing the offense knows or should have known, that there were juveniles present increases the severity of the charge to a 1st degree misdemeanor.
An Indecent Exposure conviction can affect a person’s future, by preventing an offender from gaining or maintaining employment. In some cases an indecent exposure conviction can even require that an offender register as a sex offender in a national database for years even for a lifetime.
